Election Facts:
District elections are by city wide vote. However, it is required that the candidate for a district council position reside in the district, they represent. Initial voting for council occurs on primary day -- August 24th. If no candidate in a district receives more than 50% of the vote (District Council Seat 1 has three candidates running for election), a run off election between the two candidates with the highest votes will occur on November 2, 2010.

Contribution for CandidatesFor this election, no person, political committee, or committee of continuous existence may make contributions in excess of $500 to the candidate. Campaign donations are limited to $500 from any one person per election and contributions must be received for the primary by midnight on August 19, 2010 and by midnight on October 28,2010 for the general election. The primary and general elections are separate elections. |
